We couldn’t let National Doughnut Day pass without treating ourselves to something special, so we made our way to Parlor Doughnuts in downtown Lakeland. Known for their signature layered doughnuts, this spot offers a unique take on the classic pastry.

To celebrate the occasion, Parlor was offering $5 off an assorted dozen, and we jumped at the chance. We placed our order online for a classic dozen and found our box ready and waiting upon arrival. While we were there, we couldn’t resist the temptation to try a few additional flavors. We added a blueberry, raspberry jelly-filled, and maple bacon doughnut to our order, along with a hot caramel oat milk latte to round things out.

The dining room was packed with guests celebrating the day just like us, and the team handled the flow beautifully. Despite the crowd, service was fast, friendly, and efficient, with warm greetings and fresh doughnuts flying out of the kitchen nonstop. The line moved quickly, and the atmosphere was energetic but inviting.

Beyond the food, the attention to detail in the décor stood out. Parlor Doughnuts has carved out a personality that balances charm with trend, making even a trip to the bathroom memorable. In the women’s restroom, there’s a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, a nod to Lakeland’s unique connection to the British monarch. The men’s room pays homage to George Jenkins, founder of Publix and a Lakeland legend. It’s this blend of local pride and thoughtful touches that sets Parlor apart.

Their menu offers more than just doughnuts. You’ll find breakfast tacos, avocado toast, sausage biscuits, and acai bowls, as well as vegan, gluten-free, and keto-friendly options, ensuring there’s something for every dietary preference. For coffee and tea enthusiasts, the selection is extensive, featuring lattes, cold brew, matcha, and flavored milk options suitable for all ages.

Parlor Doughnuts also sells branded merchandise, including stickers, mugs, and apparel, making it easy to take a little piece of the experience home with you.

The only challenge is parking. There is no dedicated lot, so we recommend parking along nearby downtown streets. The good news is, we “dough-not” mind walking to get our hands on these sweet treats.

Located at 351 East Bay Street, Lakeland, Parlor Doughnuts is a destination worth visiting, especially on National Doughnut Day. But let’s be honest, their doughnuts are worth celebrating any day of the year.
