Have you heard about the newest addition to Lakeland’s food scene? If not, it’s time to make your way to Market on Kentucky, a specialty market that’s redefining local shopping. Nestled in the heart of Downtown Lakeland at 126 S. Kentucky Ave, this exciting new marketplace was created by the owners of Fresco’s to bring together locally sourced packaged goods of the highest quality—and after our first visit, we can confidently say it delivers on that promise!

A Taste of Lakeland’s Best

One of the first things you’ll notice upon entering is the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pastries from Meraki Bakehouse. Their display is a feast for the eyes (and taste buds), featuring handcrafted delights like the Holy Cannoli Cruffin, Crème Brûlée Supreme Croissant, and the OG Croissant, a flaky, buttery masterpiece filled with goat cheese, garlic, and roasted tomatoes. If you have a sweet tooth, their brownies, muffins, and other baked goods will make it impossible to leave without a bag full of treats.

Beyond Meraki Bakehouse, Market on Kentucky is also home to several standout vendors from Catapult Lakeland, showcasing a diverse selection of artisan foods and locally crafted products, including:

• Andrew Logan’s Confections – Handcrafted sweets and gourmet chocolates

• Gone Greens – Unique, collard green dips and spreads

• Heirloom Jams – Small-batch jams with locally made

• Heartland Snacks – Perfectly crunchy and delicious local treats

If you’re looking for more, Style Me Grazee offers freshly made charcuterie boards, perfect for a solo snack, date night, or a small gathering. Hogg Batch Coffee, a St. Petersburg-based roaster, brings specialty whole-bean coffee to the shelves—and if you’re not ready to commit to a full bag, you can also grab a latte from the in-house café.

And let’s not forget Pine House Farm & Cattle, a third-generation family-owned farm located in Polk & Jefferson Counties. They’re bringing farm-to-table freshness with premium ground beef, steaks, brisket, and roasts, ensuring that your next home-cooked meal features high-quality, locally sourced meat. Finish up your shopping with an assortment of locally made nonfood items, mixology supplies and more.

Our Favorite Finds

During our visit, we took home some incredible finds, including:

  • Black-eyed Pea Collard Green Hummus & Collard Green Pesto from Gone Greens – A fresh, Southern twist on classic dips

  • Peru + Whiskey Whole Bean Coffee from Hogg Batch – They even grind the beans for you on-site!

  • A perfectly marbled Ribeye from Pine House Farm & Cattle – Ready to be grilled to perfection at home

  • A trio of pastries from Meraki Bakehouse – The Cannoli Cream Cruffin, Crème Brûlée Croissant, and Goat Cheese-Filled Croissant were unforgettable

Every bite and sip were packed with flavor, freshness, and a taste of the local food scene that makes Lakeland special.
