It's almost officially the lazy days of summer. There's no better time to browse a local farmers market in search of fresh produce, a handmade gift, or a sweet treat. There are several farmers' markets across the county with unique offerings. These markets really push what it means to be farm-to-fork. Here are a few to check out!
The Winter Haven Farmers Market
The Winter Haven Farmers Market is located across from Grove Roots Brewery in the old BB&T Bank lot on the NE corner of 3rd St. and Ave C SW in downtown Winter Haven. They’ve moved a few tents to the old bank drive-thru lane for added shade. This food-focused market hosts a variety of food vendors, farmers, fresh meats, pasta, bread, unique food trucks, live music, and makers. With tables and chairs set up under the trees, it’s a great way to spend the morning. They post a complete list of vendors on their Facebook every Thursday. The market is also pet-friendly! The Winter Haven Farmers Market is held every Saturday, rain or shine. September – May from 9 am – 1 pm. June – August from 9 am – noon.
